Counter Service

The fitting out of the Buffet Car has come together very pleasingly.

A couple of evening sessions this week have seen me finish the smaller third class compartment and the serving area, along with the dividers.

If we were doing it properly these walls should be clad in tongue and groove panelling - but we’re not, so they aren’t.

I’ll hand it over to Himself for painting now.

It should be quite straightforward, being just a plain green body.

Famous last words, and all that...

  1. Didn't realise you were working on this. I've just completed and trial cast the sides and ends for a 7mm kit for this. It is a bargain job pattern making for this, the basic shell can have three different interiors, buffet car, original "corridor", and as rebuilt back from buffet car, plus by removing the vent strip above the windows, the cut down to fit the FR version.

  2. Cancel the above rubbish! Just realised I have that completely wrong, just as I pressed the send button. The original was cut down before the Buffet car rebuild, so only the original should be the taller version. Might be worth cutting the casting down to make another master rather than leaving it to the kit builder to do.
